About the Reeves
Rick Reeves and his wife, Ali, have been married for fifteen years and are raising their three children together. After coming to faith in Christ at age 23, Rick has devoted his life to gospel ministry. Now, the Lord has led their family back to Rick's hometown of Roseburg, Oregon, to plant Gospel Community Church of Roseburg. As they prepare for the church's public launch, they are gathering a core team,
teaching biblical doctrine, and building meaningful relationships within the community. God has already opened doors to connect with many people who are eager to hear the gospel, including those who are unchurched or disconnected from a local church. Rick and Ali are grateful for the Lord's faithfulness and ask for prayer as they seek to establish a healthy, gospel-centered church that makes disciples and reaches Roseburg with the hope of Christ.
Ministry Update & Prayer Requests
Please introduce us to your ministry! When did you plant GCC Roseburg, and what has been happening in your church?
My name is Rick Reeves. I’ve been married to my wife, Ali, for fifteen years, and we have three children, ages 12, 10, and 8. I grew up in Roseburg, Oregon, from the ages of 13 to 23, so in many ways this is a homecoming for me. That said, I didn’t start following Jesus until I was 23 and haven’t lived in Roseburg since then. All of that is to say that this next chapter in Roseburg will look very different from my first.
How has the lord been at work in your ministry?
Although we have not officially launched Gospel Community Church of Roseburg yet, we are currently gathering twice a month to build a core team. This spring, we held six gatherings to gauge the level of interest and give people a picture of what a typical Sunday gathering would look like. By God's grace, nearly 100 people attended those gatherings, and many of them were either unchurched or not connected to a local church.
As it became clear that many people were interested in the church plant, I realized I needed to begin building a leadership team and teaching people what Gospel Community Church of Roseburg believes. One of our monthly gatherings is simply a time to fellowship and build relationships, while the other is a theology cohort where we teach our doctrine, vision, and values.
It has been incredibly encouraging to see not only the level of interest but also the spiritual hunger in Roseburg. We are grateful to see people who are eager to hear the gospel and excited about a church that desires to reach those who don't yet know Christ. We are praying that the Lord would continue to build a healthy foundation as we prepare for our public launch.

how can we pray for you, and how do you hope to see god work in the coming year?
Our biggest prayer request right now is that our house in Springfield would sell. I am finishing up my time at Gospel Community Church of Eugene, and our hope is to move to Roseburg before the end of the summer so our children can begin the school year there.
Looking ahead, our hope is to continue building a healthy core team throughout the fall and launch public Sunday gatherings at the beginning of 2027. Please pray that the Lord would call the right people to be part of this church plant, raise up faithful leaders, and use Gospel Community Church of Roseburg to reach many people in Roseburg who do not yet know Jesus.
