The Chappells

Serving at Redeemer Longmont

About the Chappells

Justin Chappell, along with his wife Caitlyn and son Myles, moved to Longmont, CO in 2017, where he joined Paul Ranheim to serve as team pastors at Redeemer Longmont, which launched in 2021. Longmont is growing quickly and is one of the more ethnically, economically, socially, and politically diverse cities in Colorado.
Like all the major cities in the region, it is also critically under-churched. Redeemer Longmont's aim is to plant numerous churches in northern Colorado and to embody the redeeming story of Jesus Christ for the good of all people, places, and things.

Ministry Update & Prayer Requests

How has the lord been at work in your ministry this past year?

It’s been an exciting year of growth! We’ve taken some sizable steps forward with our discipleship and formation groups (new small groups, Bible studies, and incubators/classes). These groups have had a big and positive impact in the church community. We’re also enjoying the fruit of some early leadership development work. Our Sunday morning teams are full and thriving — all with great volunteer leaders in place. More people have checked us out on a Sunday morning in the last year than the first two years combined. And we’ve had numerous baptisms and welcomed more than 40 new members. At the same time, we’ve had our heaviest year of shepherding. All in all, our church is living up to its namesake: Redeemer Longmont is a community filled with stories of God’s redeeming work!

How can we pray for you?

Pray that our community moves ever deeper in its enjoyment of God and its love for one another — and that the outflow would be generous love with our neighbors. We’re asking God to work through our discipleship efforts to positively shape and form this church to more beautifully reflect Christ in Northern Colorado. We are also hoping to take some more serious steps forward with our mercy and justice work in the city, as well as preparing to potentially co-host a church planting residency in the next year. Pray for wisdom and impact on both fronts. Lastly, we have a big year of fundraising ahead. We’re working hard to raise $150,000 to help us bridge the gap to becoming a self-sustaining church in the next few years.

how do you hope to see god work in the coming year?

We hope to see this community grow in breadth and depth over the next year. Our aim is to grow just a little bit more in our enjoyment of God, in cultivating beauty throughout our city, and loving others more courageously.
