En Gedi House

The En Gedi House is a place for respite and renewal for those in full-time ministry to the Lord. The En Gedi is a natural oasis in the desert of Israel, and was the place where David found respite and the Lord’s protection when Saul was hunting him down to kill him (2 Sam. 23:29). It was there that the Lord cared for him in the desert. Our hope is that you would find this same renewal and respite here in the beauty of the high desert of Central Oregon. The En Gedi House was provided through the generous blessing and kindness of the Lord to us, and so we rejoice in being able to make it available as a blessing to others who need rest.

Reserving a Week at the En Gedi House

You are welcome to request a reservation for one week per calendar year. For those who are not missionaries or church planters supported by Grace, reservations will be accepted up to six months in advance of the date requested. This allows us to prioritize space for our missionaries coming back on furlough, which is the primary purpose of the En Gedi house.

For the sake of consistency with the cleaning, reservations are made in one-week blocks beginning and ending on Sundays. We ask that you check in after 4:00 pm on the first Sunday of your stay, and check out before 11:00 am on the following Sunday. If you’re able, we would love for you to join us for our Sunday services while you are here.

There is no cost to stay with us, but we would ask for your help with a $100 donation to cover the cleaning costs. If you would like to help with the ongoing support of this ministry to other pastors & missionaries, you or your church are welcome to contribute. All donations are reinvested in the house to support the ongoing mission of providing rest for those in ministry. The donation link can be found below.
For those who are interested, we also have counseling available during the week if you would like to talk to someone about the struggles of ministry or would like someone to pray for you and your family. We know that ministry can be draining, and we want to help encourage you in any way we can.

You can find the calendar to check availability below, as well as photos of the home. It is a three-bedroom house with one queen bed, one bunk bed with a full on the bottom, two twin beds, and a pull-out queen hide-a-bed. Inside the home, you will find most everything you will need for your stay. When you are ready, you are welcome to submit a request to stay with us. We will be in touch shortly to confirm the reservation.
