In this passage the book of Luke, we find eight realities regarding sin: Sin affects everyone. We often mask or hide it. But sin is known by the Lord. It is not overcome by natural means. It is healed only by our savior Jesus. Sin thrives in darkness. It is rooted in spiritual darkness. And it comes with consequences. Questions to ask ourselves: How do we deal with sin in our lives? Are we covering it, minimizing it, excusing it, or repenting of it? Are we concealing our sin or are we confessing our sin? Are we listening to the plea of Jesus to repent? Are we believing in what He has done for us? Are we trying to fight the battle of sin in our own strength? Are we hiding our sin in darkness? Or have we received the healing of Jesus Christ from our sins?
