Hi, Grace Bible Church!

Here’s a brief rundown of what’s coming up over the next days and weeks at Grace:

Upcoming Events

With December 30th being the last Sunday of the year, all tithes received that day at our regular Sunday service will, of course, be counted toward 2018 giving. If you are considering mailing checks to Grace, make certain that they are dated and postmarked on or before December 31st to be counted toward 2018 giving. For those utilizing online giving, please complete those transactions today to ensure that the posting will be completed by December 31st. If you are desiring to tithe toward missions or benevolence and have a specific mission or benevolence need, please send us an email at bookkeeper@gracebibleofbend.org and let us know the specifics.  Unfortunately, Planning Center does not currently have a way to communicate specific giving for benevolence and missions, so we need to hear directly from you on that.

Also, please remember that because the City is going to be closing in just a few days, we are transitioning all online giving over to a new platform called Planning Center Giving. Please begin using Planning Center from now on for your online giving to Grace by clicking the link below. Thank you for supporting the ministry of Grace Bible Church!

Membership Presentation | January 13th

Our next membership presentation is coming up on January 13th. This is where new members of Grace Bible Church are presented to the church body during the service. If you are interested in becoming a member of Grace Bible, click on the “become a member” link below. To be included in the next presentation, please complete the process by January 6th.

Members of Grace Bible are invited to join us for our next Family Membership Night on Tuesday, January 22nd. We’ll share a potluck dinner from 5:45-6:30 pm, followed by worship, prayer, and a meeting from 6:30-8:00 pm. Please RSVP through the link below.

We use Planning Center for a number of different things including giving, and they now have a church app that you can download for your phone. Features include events, giving, and eventually groups.

Need a hand? The Care Team’s here to help! Every now and then everyone can use a little help. Do you have a practical need a brother or sister from the Care Team could help with? Whether it’s an emergency or an ongoing need, we can help with things like delivering a meal, childcare, home or car repair, snow removal, transportation, running an errand, help with moving, managing a budget, home cleaning and organizing, etc. Click the “Care Team Request” button below. Someone will call you soon. Questions? Call Dave Robinson at 541-325-9340, or email him at dave@gracebibleofbend.org.

We’d like to remind you that Orphanages of Kenya has provided a bottle and can drop-off at GBC as a way to raise money for the ministry. Bring your recyclable cans and bottles to church on Sundays and deposit them in the drop-off located on the north side of the administration building. It will be open every Sunday after church on an ongoing basis. There will be a team member there to assist you with your deposits. For more detailed information on how and what to donate, click on the “more information” button below.

Did you miss last week’s sermon? Watch “A Shocking Genealogy” from Matthew 1:1-16.

Sunday Gathering

This Sunday we will look together at Philippians 1:12-30, as we look at the genealogy of Christ. We encourage you to read ahead and come prepared to hear from God’s word.

November Missionary Highlight | Brodie & Katie McClain

After four years of church planting near downtown L.A., the Lord began to slowly place a burden on the hearts of Brodie and Katie McClain for unreached and unchurched areas across the globe. After a lot of prayer and a short-term trip, the Lord led them to the Republic of Georgia as the answer to this prayer. Working with a fellowship of national believers, the goal is to see a gospel church planted in each of the 6000 villages across the country (currently they estimate around 20 such churches exist). Alongside church-planting efforts, the McClains have a desire to minister to orphans and widows, with the aim of setting up an orphanage and a place of refuge in Georgia. They have also established an English school, which is a fairly intense program meeting four times per week. There are currently about twenty students involved.
